CHANGES

Lately I've been noticing changes. I mean, I know they happen all the time, but I've been really noticing them. Some good, some bad, and some just average you could say. Ever since I started school the bad changes have been revealing themselves. One major one I have noticed is a loss of friends. Maybe I'm just being irrational, but I feel as if since I have gotten older I am realizing who my real friends are (cliché, I know). Moving on, an average change would be my body. I have started noticing that maybe all of that extra ice cream after school or subway after the gym isn't actually the best idea. To change this I'm obviously going to the gym and eating more fruits and veggies, etc. I have considered becoming a vegetarian because knowing what those poor animals go through puts my heart in a sad state. However, I am not the best at eating proper meals in the first place so taking protein out of my diet would not be a good start. It's still something I am willing to do though. A good change is fall; I am in L O V E (and can we just take a moment to realize it's nearly October, whaaaat?!). I can finally wear my knit sweaters, cozy new boots, jeans and tights!

I know that change can be a scary thing and I'm starting to accept that which helps me feel a tiny bit better. So, aside from changes I also wanted to add a list of things that I want to accomplish next month!

1. See my parents for thanksgiving
2. Dress-Up for Halloween
3. Learn to make pumpkin pie
4. Start writing christmas cards
5. Read five books
6. Work on my blog for the autumn season

AUTUMN

I've hit that point in summer when I need fall. I crave the chai tea lattes from Starbucks and pumpkin pie for dessert. I desire the way the crisp leaves merely melt off their limbs after they've changed to a vibrant, breathtaking hue unlike any other. I dream of the warm wardrobe choices I will wrap myself into on the more boreal days. I ache for those brisk mornings upon which I gaze out the window astonished at the elegance of this fine season. I am also elated for school (call me crazy), but since this is my final year of the whole shebang I believe I have a reason to be. Nonetheless, I'm going to continue to enjoy this summer while it lasts, but I will not somber when it packs up and takes its travels until next year.

ADVENTURING

photos taken on my iPhone

I was born to explore the world I lay my feet upon every morning. I have a desire for the trees, the mountains, the ocean and everything in between. I live for road trips to towns deep within the mountains. I breathe in the warm summer air mixed with the exciting aroma that is life. Summer is a season of freedom and traveling. So, yesterday I adventured out to a town known as Banff, and had a marvelous trip full of nature, family, and memories that will continue to swirl my mind until I can't remember what I had for breakfast.

On another very quick note, happy birthday to my best friend Hope! She is undoubtedly one of the most creative and amazing lifestyle photographers I know. Our friendship has already ventured seven great years and it's still in the making. Best of wishes to you man!

AN INTRODUCTION

Welcome! Take a seat, grab a cup of tea and stay a while, won't you? My name is Madi and I'm just your average (and sometimes not so average) seventeen year old dreamer, photographer, adventurer, and occasional writer. I have been fascinated with blogging at the age of thirteen or fourteen when my best friend Hope created her blog. I have attempted uncountable times at keeping up with a blog that I'd like to call my own. A space where I can just let loose all those creative juices and a place to share my pictures in a professional and special way. Unfortunately for me, I am part perfectionist and part couch potato; yet, as I've grown older I have learned that in order to accomplish my dreams -whatever they may be, from travel journalism to stay at home mom to astronomer- I have to actually just do it. So here it is! My home-base for creativity, relaxation and hopefully new friendships! I hope you enjoy this journey as much as I will and if you care to embark, I don't mind the company.
